The Crown | Pastor Phil | @JesusLives
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we know, a crown traditionally symbolizes royalty and honor. However, the crown of thorns that adorned Jesus' head was a stark contrast—a symbol of mockery and humiliation.
The Romans intended to further degrade Jesus by inflicting physical pain upon him, driving the thorns deep into his skull, causing him to bleed.
But what do these thorns symbolize in the Bible? They represent consequences resulting from disobedience, torment, and challenges. They remind us of the struggles we face in our daily lives—the thorns in our flesh that cause us pain and anguish.
Many of us may be wearing our own metaphorical crown of thorns—experiencing hardship, feeling out of place, or questioning our purpose. But just as Jesus carried the weight of his crown of thorns, we are reminded that our trials can lead to growth and renewal.
In Matthew 16:24, Jesus tells his disciples, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me."
This means embracing sacrifice, enduring trials, seeking God's will, and serving others.
We are reminded that we cannot expect prosperity without sacrifice, comfort without trials, answers without seeking, fulfillment without service, or healing without faith.
Please join us this Thursday evening at 7:30 for anointed worship, fellowship, and a good word simply called "The Crown".

That One Sin | Pastor Phil | @JesusLives
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am writing to extend a heartfelt invitation to our upcoming Thursday service at Jesus Lives, where we will delve into a vital topic that touches the core of our faith: Confronting sin.

We will shed light on the insidious nature of pride, lust, greed, anger, and envy. These are not mere abstract concepts but real and tangible adversaries that seek to derail our journey of faith and separate us from the love of God.
I invite you to join us this Thursday at 7:30 PM at Jesus Lives as we gather together in worship and fellowship and of course an epic meal that will arrive this time!
Let us come with open hearts and minds, ready to receive this transformative message!
Please extend this invitation to your friends, family, and fellow believers. Together, let us take a bold step towards spiritual renewal and growth.

Wise As Serpents | Pastor Phil | @JesusLives
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am excited to extend a warm invitation to you for a special teaching session on Thursday at 7:30 PM, where we will delve into the profound wisdom found in being “wise as serpents.”
In a world filled with challenges, uncertainties, and spiritual battles, the guidance of Scripture is more relevant than ever. Jesus Himself instructed us, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16, NIV).
This powerful command from Jesus serves as a beacon of light, guiding us in navigating the complexities of our fallen world with wisdom, discernment, and integrity.
During our time together, we will explore the significance of Jesus’ words, placing them within the broader context of His ministry and teachings and we’ll examine the prevalent challenges and temptations we face in our contemporary society, including deception, temptation, persecution, and chaos.
These are tough times and we need to ground ourselves in the Word of God, so we can embody the wisdom of serpents in our daily lives, including cultivating a deep relationship with God, exercising discernment, and remaining steadfast in faith amidst trials.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday at 7:30 PM and plan to join us in person and PLEASE invite friends, family, and neighbors who may benefit from this timely teaching!
Please join us this Thursday at 7:30PM for good worship, great fellowship, and a good word called "Wise as Serpents".

Unconditional Love | Pastor Phil | @JesusLives
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we journey through this month, I am excited to share with you a special sermon focusing on the profound and transformative concept of Unconditional Love.
In a world often fraught with conditions and expectations, the idea of Unconditional Love stands as a beacon of hope and grace. It's a love that knows no bounds, no limits, and no prerequisites. It's the kind of love that our Heavenly Father lavished upon us each day, regardless of our shortcomings or failings.
Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:18-19 that "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love each other because he first loved us."
These words beautifully encapsulate the essence of Unconditional Love, reminding us that it is rooted in the love that God has freely given us.
During our time together on Thursday evening, we will delve deeper into the meaning and significance of Unconditional Love. Together, we will explore how this divine love transforms our relationships, our perspectives, and our lives. We'll discuss practical ways in which we can embody Unconditional Love in our interactions with others and how it can serve as a powerful force for healing and reconciliation in our communities.
As we prepare our hearts and minds for Thursday's gathering, let us also take time to reflect on the ways in which we can extend Unconditional Love to those around us, just as our Heavenly Father has done for us.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our small church family.
I look forward to seeing each of you this Thursday evening as we come together to celebrate the profound gift of Unconditional Love. Bring along friends, family members, and anyone else who could benefit from experiencing the boundless love of God.
