We operate the same way the early church did: Free Will Offerings

SUPPORTING JESUS LIVES IS GODLY

In the early church there was no passing of the offering; there was only a wooden bucket at the back of the room and that’s what you will see at Jesus’ lives.

It is Godly to give with your finances and help support the work Jesus Lives is doing every Thursday and Saturday evenings.

No one in leadership of Jesus Lives receives any pay from the ministry; all serve only out of the love of Jesus Christ and that includes all pastors, leaders, and worship teams.

HOWEVER, WE NEED FINANCES to spread the word and every cent of your tithes, offerings, and alms given at Thursday services or through this website will go directly to feeding and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to our congregation, and reaching out to the homeless and poor of Seattle.

All of the finances you donate are used for bare-bones expenses to spread the love of Jesus.

Giving is Biblical.

Give with your Finances and help us spread revival with the word of God.

Long before offerings were a practice of the Israelite people, Cain and Abel, the second generation of the human race, brought an offering to the Lord. The Lord blessed Abel’s offering, but rejected Cain’s. Abel brought the “firstborn of his flock,” while Cain brought “some of the fruits of the soil” as an offering. God wants to be first.

The following scriptures show how tithing is biblical.

Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: ‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.’ And he gave him a tithe of all.” – Genesis 14:18-20

“And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide.” – Deuteronomy 26:1-2

Your giving helps us bring revival to Seattle and the world.

Tithing is mentioned throughout the Old Testament, particularly when God commissioned the Israeli tribe of Levi to serve by caring for the tabernacle and providing spiritual leadership for the nation of Israel. Since the tribe of Levi was given these two unique responsibilities, God did not assign to them a portion of land (as He had assigned portions of land to the other tribes of Israel), but He instructed the rest of the Israelites to bring tithes of their increase to provide for the priests and Levites. (See Numbers 18.) In the New Testament, Jesus affirmed the practice of tithing (see Matthew 23:23), and the Apostle Paul encouraged Christians to give to those in need and to those who were ministering in the Gospel (see II Corinthians 9:6–15). When you tithe today, you enable those at Jesuslives.com whom God has called to serve as pastors, missionaries, teachers and ministry personnel to faithfully build up the Church and expand the kingdom of God. While the staff at Jesus Lives chooses to gladly serve God without pay, many expenses come up when spreading the gospel and your tithes and giving help to support our ministry!

Put it into practice

Tithing is one way to worship God—to honor Him as your provider and remind yourself that all of your resources belong to Him and are provided through His grace. As you give away that first 10% of your income, you set your course to honor God in the way you handle the rest of your finances.

“And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will surely give a tenth to you.” – Genesis 28:22

“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.” – Leviticus 27:30
