How marvelous are the ways of God! What a merciful and gracious King we serve! Although we face challenges and tests every day, we still have a new beginning to look forward to at the end of each day. A new start begins with the sunrise. God is limitless in His love and mercy. He knows our frame and understands how important it is for us to have hope. New beginnings provide that hope.
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)
Our Creator understands how frail and weak we are. Human pride is the cause of feeble attempts to hide weakness from Him. But God yearns to be our help, our shield of strength when times are rough. Humble petitions are always heard by our intercessor. In fact, the answers to our prayers are often found within the blessing of a new day. A fresh start, a rested body and spirit, a new beginning; these all clear our heads and encourage Christ-like thinking.
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
With every 60 seconds and 60 minutes, we have a new start. A fresh launch begins at the 24 hour mark. There is a new beginning at the end of every week, month, and year. This is not a coincidence. God is purposeful in all He does and His designs are perfect. I’m sure He set the planets in their orbits and designed the seasons for more than just one reason.
Adam and Eve were given a new start after their fall from grace in the Garden of Eden. Sin caused their abrupt exit from paradise but God still provided for their needs. Indeed, it was He who clothed them with their first real garments.
“Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21 (NKJV)
God, in His love for us, designed a new beginning after the fall of man. This new beginning reunited us with our heavenly Father and restored our personal relationship with Him. Through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we were given a new start.
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)
When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we were reborn. And since we have been born again, we are a new creation. We understand spiritual things and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we no longer walk in darkness. A new path lies before us and it is a path of light. New beginnings, rebirth, a new path, born again, new life, a move from darkness into the light; these are all because of Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Co 5:17 (NKJV)
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (NKJV)
If the enemy has robbed your hope, take it back! Find comfort in the dawn of each new day and remember the faithfulness of God. There is forgiveness for everyone. No sin can keep us from the love of Christ. No adversity is beyond His strength to overcome. There is an answer, a blessing, a nugget of truth, a lesson, a service, a word of kindness, and an act of love for each one of us…. in every day. Go out with your spiritual eyes wide open and seek it. Rejoice in the day the Lord has made and make the life He has given you count.
“He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, and will trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:3 (NKJV)
“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)
